Hey I'm Rachel and a few months ago I had emailed you about covering Armies of your heart. Can I? it would mean the world to me

Hi Rachel! I am sorry I didn't respond - sometimes I get overwhelmed with emails and things to do.
Yes, I would absolutely love for you to cover it and when you do, please post a video of it up, I would love to see/hear it! Thank you for being a fan:)

Thank you so much! Yes, I am overdue for a tour and I hope to perform in more US cities in the coming months. At the moment I am hard at work on the new record, though. However, tune in January 30th for a Google+ Hangout - I will be doing a lot more of those. It's not as good as a real concert, but it's something. Also, consider booking me for a house concert in your city - if you would like more information, email as at team@elizaveta.net with House Concert in the subject.
xoxo!

Q

Will you come back to Philadelphia? Or come to my college and perform?

Elizaveta responded on 01/27/2013
A

Yes, I very much hope so although not sure when. I think later this summer there will be a small East Coast tour, like the one I did last year. Also, you could submit a proposal to your college's department which books artists to come and give presentations/performances - I am sure that would help!

Q

Hi... Im Daniel from Mexico... I just say I really love your music ... I wonder if you would like to sing a song in spanish language.. And what would it be ??

Elizaveta responded on 01/27/2013
A

hello Daniel! Thank you so much for your support!

Actually, I am currently getting ready to record Meant and Snow in Venice in Spanish!:) Stay tuned.

Q

Would you ever consider being on a TV singing competition show to increase fame? (like the Voice or the X Factor) I think you would win!

Elizaveta responded on 01/27/2013
A

Thanks darling. I don't count anything out, but I am not sure this is really my path... I am not really a covers singer so much - I do best when I perform my own material. Whether it's a strength or weakness is not for me to say. I guess the future will tell!

Q

hi elly samantha from denver CO huge huge fans my sister and I are we love your tunes and your work. but saw on formspring the feet tickle stuff lmao

Elizaveta responded on 01/15/2013
A

I have to say that the feet tickling requests have caught my attention, yes. I really have no idea what this is about, I suppose there are people out there who are dying to see other people's feet tickled - that's ok - I will consider it but for now it's not entirely at the top of my video-making list, if I may be forgiven for this transgression.
:)

Q

Any chance on a tour stop in Southern Arizona? I think the last time you were scheduled for Tucson something happened and it was cancelled (and many people were bummed out!)

Elizaveta responded on 01/14/2013

I am definitely due for a big tour of the US. Yes, last time it was an unfortunate thing - I was opening for James (the band) and I caught the flu. By the time we arrived in Arizona, I could hardly stand. I guess I could have braved it after all, but my throat was a complete mess, as well, and the doctor told me that if I wanted to tour and perform soon after, I would have to get rest and not sing anymore for at least a couple of weeks. At the time I was scheduled to open for Sinead O'Connor, on her tour of the East Coast, but she cancelled her whole tour, unfortunately. So - next time I promise a real show in Tucson! Please don't hate me!:) xoxo

Q

As you work on new music, what direction do you think you will head in, such as style and or themes?

Elizaveta responded on 01/14/2013
A

The second record will be similar to Beatrix Runs, in the sense that it will be a mix of styles, textures and themes. There are some upbeat songs but also some slower ones, and definitely all of them influenced by my own experiences in the recent year and a half. I am considering having an acoustic record-companion to this one, and maybe releasing them at the same time, but I am not quite sure yet. I am working with Greg Wells again, who produced Beatrix Runs. He is a genius and a great friend. I think the major difference between the two records is that I am no longer in the same place as a person - as I was when I wrote the songs for Beatrix Runs - I think I am stronger and more direct. The past year was a trial by fire and water, so to speak, and now I feel like I have emerged from it with the songs that reflect this. I am still the same person, of course, but I am more 'me' and I feel more comfortable being myself whether it is in the public eye or not.

Q

I just watched your show at the Bing Lounge (it was FANTASTIC!) Where did you get the dress that you wore I am just in love with it?

Elizaveta responded on 01/12/2013
A

Thank you! That was a dress my designer Missy and I found at a vintage shop in Scotland! It was an amazing place - a warehouse filled with all sorts of old stuff from the last 300 years! The old lady who ran it was very sweet and she told us she was friends with Evan MacGregor's mom and showed us the photos:) I would love to go back on my next trip to Scotland and buy some more dresses there.

Q

Out of all of your original songs, which one is your favorite to sing?

Elizaveta responded on 01/12/2013
A

This is not an easy question:) I think I really love singing Dreamer and Odi et Amo because they both incorporate opera and I get to enjoy it. I also really like singing the Goodbye Song because it really tells a story and I can feel people getting caught up in it as they start remembering their own love stories that finished. Also Meant is a favorite because it's so intense. I now have lots of new songs I am starting to incorporate those into the set, too.
